    Badal Roy
Snug Harbor Jazz BistroOctober 23, 2014 8:00 PM
    626 Frenchmen Street
    New Orleans, LA 70116

Master musician Badal Roy is one of the worlds leading tabla players. Although his musical roots reflect the influence of Indian classical music, Roy has taken the Indian hand drum from its traditional role and placed it in the realm of jazz and improvisational music. He is probably most known most for his extensive work with Miles Davis in the 1970s and 1980s, but Roy has also performed with such stellar artists as John McLaughlin, Herbie Mann, Dave Leibman, Michael Wolff, Pharoah Sanders, Dizzy Gillespie, Andreas Vollenweider and Yoko Ono. Tonight he will be joined by his New Orleans collaborators Larry Sieberth on Piano and Roland Guerin on bass for a unique musical journey.
