    »Dave Attell (Celebrity Event)

    August 01, 2014 8:00 PM

Dubbed a “comedian’s comedian” by his peers, Dave Attell’s sardonic wit made him famous in comedy clubs across the country. A New Yorker through and through, Attell rose to fame on the improv stage but hit the big time as host and creator of Comedy Central’s Insomniac with Dave Attell. Named one of Entertainment Weekly magazine’s 25 Funniest People in America, Attell also appeared as a commentator on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and wrote for Saturday Night Live. A self-proclaimed insomniac, Attell pitched a show idea to Comedy Central in 2001. A camera crew would follow him post comedy gig, as he hit the bars and clubs of each town on his comedy tour. The hit travelogue series Insomniac with Dave Attell was born and became a hit for Comedy Central. The series, which Attell described as “a cross between Girls Gone Wild and Cops," allowed the comedian to combine two of his favorite past times, booze and comedy.

The Chainsmokers is a New York City-based electro house duo comprised of Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall.Founded in 2012, the group nurtured its sound by playing low profile gigs around New York before being noticed by EDM signpost Steve Aoki, who signed the duo to his label Dim Mak Records. The Chainsmokers released its debut single "#SELFIE," in 2014 on the Dim Mak imprint and the song's broad appeal, matched with the tune's introspective questioning of technology's effect on society and culture, helped attract a fairly sizable fan base.
