    Branford Marsalis is a saxophonist from New Orleans, Louisiana who is best known for his work in jazz and by being a part of the world-renowned Marsalis family of jazz musicians. Despite Marsalis' focus on jazz, he is also highly sought out by classical orchestras and ensembles for his skills on the saxophone--an instrument that is rarely highlighted in classical music. Marsalis has also spread his influence into the world of popular music, where his most celebrated collaborations have been with the singer and bassist Sting of The Police on several of his solo records.
