The Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Art is a fitting tribute to Mississipi's legendary and eccentric potter - George Ohr. Having fallen prey to the damages of Hurricane Katrina, this museum picked itself quickly and continues to keep alive the undying spirit of the city's art-lovers. While the permanent collections and traveling exhibitions are sufficiently impressive, it's their events calendar which keeps the crowds pouring in. This not-to-be-missed museum features the art of the well-known Mississippi artist, writer, and naturalist Walter Inglis Anderson, and his brothers, Peter Anderson and James McConnell Anderson. Exhibits which include the works of other significant artists are also offered. The museum is open daily, with limited hours on Sundays. It is closed for New Year�s Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Admission is charged.

Dedicated entirely to inspire the next generation through kinestethic and interactive learning, the museum features several indoor and outdoor, educational exhibits all of which the little visitors can handle by themselves. A great place to learn while playing and having fun, Lynn Meadows Discovery Center is housed within an old school building of 1915.
