The primary focus of the Greensboro Area Convention & Visitors Bureau is pretty simple. The organization offers free guides and pertinent information of Greensboro's attractions, accommodations, restaurants, and a whole bunch of other activities and special happenings and goings-on.
The Special Events Venue in the Greensboro Coliseum Complex is 167,000 square feet, 150,000 of which can be used for exhibition space. It often hosts trade fairs and tech shows, and has also been the venue for cheerleading competitions. Check the website for a calendar of events, or call to reserve the space.
Established in 1924, Temple Emanuel is located on Jefferson Road, in Greensboro. The welcoming house of worship is home to a vibrant and tolerant congregation. Following Progressive Judaism, the synagogue urges its members to learn more about their culture, traditions and history in the context of that period and geographical features. With ministries that are appropriate for all members of the family, the synagogue offers many services and cultural programs.
A branch of the Moses Cone Health Center, the Wesley Long Community Hospital began as a clinic that could only accommodate 20 beds, and has grown to nine times that size. Today, the hospital houses the Moses Cone Health System Regional Cancer Center, state-of-the-art MRI imaging systems, a cutting edge surgery team, a diabetes program, wound care center and much more.
The Piedmont Triad International Airport is located in the middle of the East Coast and is at the center of the Triad, which refers to the cities of Greensboro, Winston-Salem and High Point. Convenient facilities include a parking lot with 2000 spaces, a Marriott Hotel, rental cars and taxi services. Major airlines like Delta, US Airways and United operate out of the airport.
Downtown Greensboro is the dynamic heart of the city which is not only an economic hub but also an entertainment center. Built in 1927, the J. Douglas Galyon Transportation Depot is in the heart of downtown Greensboro. The station includes the GTA Transfer Center as well as other sources of transportation such as Carolina Trailways, Greyhound and Amtrak.
The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital is the main hospital for the Moses Cone Health System, is the largest hospital in the Greensboro area, has 536 beds, and covers 63 acres. Urgent care and emergency pediatric care are both available, as well as a wide range of rehabilitative and surgical services. The institution also contains the Primary Stroke Center.
Grace Church is a community church in High Point. This fellowship of like-minded Christian believers is committed to spreading the Word of God in keeping with the teachings of the Bible. An array of events and ministries are organized including children, youth and healing. Other recreational activities put together include summer clubs, workshops, conferences and retreats.
Located in High Point, Community Bible Church is an Evangelical Church open to all. Its philosophy is Christ-oriented and preaches teachings from the Holy Bible. The parish organizes weekly worship, interactive services, counseling and children's ministries for the community.
Located in High Point, Tabernacle Baptist Church is a community-driven church committed to spreading the Word of God. It organizes weekly worship and services as well as church ministries and Sunday School for all age groups. They extend their support to local children’s homes and jail ministry and also have a global missionaries to countries such as Egypt, Thailand, Spain and Japan. Conrad Memorial Baptist Church is located on Centennial Street, in Northern districts of High Point. Established in 1990, this House of God, offers regular worship service along with other community services. Worship service is every Sunday at 10.45a and prayer service is conducted on Wednesdays at 6.45p.
