If you feel like sharing a wee bit of blarney and some Irish hospitality, head for this lively pub where an assortment of draft and bottled beer, ale, lager and stout awaits. Hot sandwiches include steak-n-cheese and Reubens, but you can also tuck into beer-battered fish-n-chips, Killarney Grilled Chicken Breast, homemade sausages in pastry with Guinness gravy and traditional cottage pie.
There are a handful of places where you can find multiple facilities under one roof and Dallas Bull happens to be one of those. Right from "business concerts" to bars and lounges, this place has them all. Relocated under a new management, this place covers a massive area of 34,000 sq. ft and can accommodate huge crowds with ease. Popular for playing old country music, this place has also hosted events like music launches. Its close proximity to Ford Amphitheatre, certainly adds to its pros.
Party in two bars for the price of one! Peabody's and The Palms can deliver a good time any day of the week. On the bar side of things you'll find several pool tables for the crowd that's looking to chill and take advantage of the fantastic drink specials, while the connecting Palms Lounge houses a dance floor for college students looking to get down. Events include 2-for-1 Tuesdays, with DJs playing 80s classics in the Palms, and Thursday pitcher night, when liquor pitchers go for as low as $6. If you're in the USF area, Peabody's is by far the best place to “Eat, Drink, and Get Racked.”
Like its sister bar, the University Area Hangout, the Lutz Area Hangout features entertainment and events every night of the week. In addition to Karaoke, Trivia Nights and Beer Pong tournaments, the LA Hangout frequently hosts live bands such as local favorite Phoenix, offers Thursday Bike Night specials and features a Friday evening Pig Roast. The Hangout is open all afternoon, so arrive early to grab a bite and a pint, or take advantage of the pool tables, dart boards and video games. Happy Hour is every day until 7 pm and smoking is allowed. For locals who don't care to venture all the way to Ybor, the LA Hangout is a hands-down favorite.
The Dirty Shame pub is open six days a week, serving car bombs and other libations to bikers and other thirsty patrons. The "Pub on the Edge" features weekly special events, such as Bike Nights and has been known to team up with other unique bars to host themed pub crawls. Not surprisingly, smoking is permitted, so as the night wears on, the floor tends to get sticky and the air gets stuffy. Still, this offbeat bar is a favorite to many, thanks to its rugged atmosphere, wide beer selection and, of course, the car bombs.
Considered as the original hotspot for party-goers in Tampa, Empire is the place for those who like to have a good time with its loud music and hottest full color laser. At Empire you can play pool, groove to the music or simply relax on the comfy lounges. One can even lounge around on the balcony for a panaromic view of the city. Music played here is generally house and hip-hop but it keeps changing regularly. Special events are also held at the cub.
If you're 21 and above, walk in at Gaspar's Grotto with your head held high. This eclectic and unique eatery serves up barbecues, burgers and salads extraordinaire! This restaurant comes with a history of Tampa's pirates and ship stories—look out for all the nautical artifacts and pirate knickknacks on the walls. It's not a rare feature here to rub shoulders with famous celebrities and world class icons—no one can resist the charm of this place! If this doesn't satisfy you, summon the world famous feline “Tanker Ray”, the barcat! The atmosphere, the staff, the service and the theme is all worth a visit!
Much like the blockbuster movie, this rocking bar features a bevy of friendly bartenders, rowdy crowds and flowing liquor. Happy hour takes place Wednesday through Sunday 5-7p, along with other weekly drink specials. Theme nights take place as well, from neon parties to military nights, you're sure to walk into something fun here.
It is definitely double the pleasure and the fun at the Double Decker, which is one of Ybor City's premier Seventh Avenue nightclubs. Open until the early hours of the morning, enjoy more than 20 selections of domestic, house and European brews on tap. The DD has scheduled live musical entertainment, karaoke and plenty of drink specials to keep you going. Peruse the two floors for a comfortable place to sit or relax in the outdoor beer garden. Play a game of darts, shoot pool or entertain patrons on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday night with your own brand of karaoke. Happy hour is part of the attraction with all drafts priced two for one every Monday through Friday from 4p until 8p. -Vickie Ferguson
Located inside Lake Buena Vista's Wyndham Palace resort next to the popular Outback Restaurant (The), this lounge is a great place to unwind after a long day. Spacious and loud, it invites you to grab a frozen drink or draft beer at the bar and plant yourself wherever you feel most comfortable. In the mood for a little dancing? Grab a table by the huge dance floor and join the fun. Or maybe you'd rather watch the action from above? Head upstairs and grab a seat along the railing of the balcony bar. Either way, talented DJ's during the week or a live, eight-piece band on weekends keep the place jumping.
The Crowbar is fast becoming a favorite for watching live bands, drinking beer and just good old socializing. The Crowbar is a very hip and happening place, a modern bar and venue. There are three bars in the club, with one outside so if you're not enjoying the music you don't have to leave the place, just go sit out on the patio and refill your glass—sorted! Open tuesday to saturday 8pm onwards.
For an alternative to the regular nightclub scene, the Castle is definitely the place to be. Starting downstairs, make your first stop at the black granite bar and order a cold brew or cool cocktail, while the DJ spins classic Goth and Old Wavetunes. Then take the party upstairs where the large dance floor, bar, light show and giant projection screen stand, blasting sounds from New Wave to Electro. All this will keep you entertained till the wee hours. Dress style is up to you, so feel free to wear your most creative costume. Only 18 and above allowed.
