Center for the Arts at George Mason University puts on Great Performances and is associated with the College of Visual and Performing Arts. This college believes exploring each art as an individual discipline and gaining in depth information about interdisciplinary forms. They work with the knowledge that education is enhanced when you come in contact with artists through their work, lectures, demonstrations and other creative endeavors. A local high school drama company, the McLean High School Theater hosts performances by dedicated students and performers from the McLean High School. Located less than 50 miles from Baltimore, and run by a non-profit organization, the Montgomery County Fairgrounds were set up in 1949 with just 12 buildings but now have 42 buildings. Originally agricultural shows used to be held here where farmers brought forth their best livestock and produce however, in recent years, a number of trade shows, art & craft festivals and private banquets have been held. Thousands of volunteers are hired to manage each event and look into details like house-keeping, security, administration, parking, catering etc.

On Saturdays hear big band, Cajun, swing and R&B. Sundays are reserved for intermediate and advanced contra and square dancers. The Classic Revival mansion built in 1926 is now the home of the Glenview Mansion Art Gallery and is available for conferences, weddings and holiday parties. Formerly the Glenview Farm, the Civic Center Park also has various facilities like picnic tables, nature trails, walking paths, climbing walls, playgrounds, tennis courts, open spaces, grill areas and a wildlife sanctuary.
