    »Greenwood Cemetery

    The Greenwood Cemetery played a pivotal role for the African American community of Tallahassee for many decades. It was established in 1937 when there were no burial grounds available for the African American group and now covers 12.4 acres (5.02 hectares) of land. It went through years of neglect after the founding members of the Greenwood Cemetery Company who built this graveyard passed away. It was after a series of meetings with the city council and a citizens group that the cemetery was restored and rededicated in 1987. It has been a designated historic site since 2003.

    »Old Capitol Museum

    In its present location since 1845, this American Renaissance style mansion has been beautifully restored to its 1902 appearance and features red candy-striped awnings and a stained glass dome. The building houses the House and Senate Chambers, the Supreme Court, and the Governor's office and special exhibits, artifacts, and reproductions are located throughout the building which interpret the state's political history, constitutions, and the history of the building.
