Cool your jets at this public ice-skating facility. 18,000 square-feet of ice surface area affords open skating and lessons year-round. The rink is located next to Big Surf Waterpark, one-half mile north of the Loop 202 and one-quarter mile south of McKellips Road. A pro-shop, offering skates and equipment is open daily. Hockey equipment is available from vendors like Louisville, JOFA, Bauer, ITECH and Vaughn. Figure skates are available by Reidell and Mondor. ASU Karsten Golf Course—par 72 Pete Dye-designed public course is fashioned in a Scottish links style. Tees range from 4,760 yards on the forward tees to 7,058 on the professional. Throughout the course railroad ties, bunkers and hidden greens create a challenge. The number 7 hole is reported to be the most likely place to get a birdie. Greens fees including cart and vary according to season. Collared shirts with sleeves and hemmed Bermuda-length shorts are required. Amenities include the Trophy Room Restaurant serving breakfast and lunch, a practice range, putting green and short game area.
The Desert Botanical Garden began in the 1930s with the goal of preserving the area's pristine desert environment. Today, the garden helps save endangered plants, with the focus still on native flora and special emphasis on succulents. The cactus collection is world-renowned and between the months of March through May, the seasonal blooms are spectacular. The garden also hosts numerous events throughout the year which include the popular 'Butterfly Habitat', the 'Luminarias' during the holiday season and rotating sculpture exhibits from the world-renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly. State of the art video equipment has been installed, including a system that offers fans instant replay action. Located atop the upper deck on the west side, suite seating accommodates up to 900 fans.

This 60-acre (24.28 hectare) park located within the Indian Bend Wash greenbelt is home to the Wedge Skate Park. It is every skater's dream complete with ramps, curbs and rails making it an awesome place to pick up new tricks. The park also offers an outdoor amphitheater, swimming pool, two lakes, two children's playgrounds. The 5K course along with softball, soccer, basketball and a sand volleyball courts make it a great place to come and work out. Or pack up the family, make some lunch and head on over to the picnic area for a great family out.
Arizona's largest indoor climbing gym features 12,000 square-feet of climbing surface. Challenges include cracks, aretes, chimneys and cracks. No experience, no problem; after a quick training video, the friendly staff will have you strapped in and climbing the 24-foot-high canyon walls in safety. Routes are changed frequently, so climbers do not become complacent. Passes are available ranging $10-350. Bring your own gear or rent it here at a reasonable cost. Signed waiver is required for climbers under 18. Group events and parties may be arranged, call for further information.
Take a tour around Tempe's only lake for 35 minutes. If you prefer a self-guided tour, this place will rent paddle boats and electric boats daily. Choose from a paddle boat or a six-person electric boat per hour. A ten-person electric boat is also available. Call for information on group events, or reservations.
